Welcome to the DSST Internet Based Testing Proctor
Site!
You have been directed to
this site for one of two reasons. First,
you have expressed an interest in administering DSSTs via the Internet-based
delivery format. In which case, we need
you to become an approved “Test Proctor” within the Prometric Online Delivery
System (you are actually interacting with that system right now!).
To become a proctor, you must
complete the newly revised 20-question “TCA Certification Exam”. This DSST proctor exam is an “Open Book”
test, and encourages you to refer to the DSST Test Administration Guide, not
only for the answers to the test, but for other answers to questions that may
arise. With an 80-100% pass rate, you
will have the opportunity to score 23 possible points. This is the final confirmation you are ready
to manage and confidently administer an online DSST examination.
It is very important that you
save the User Name and Password you will create during this process, as it is
the one you will use to deliver DSSTs online.
It will be entered at Step #4 of the testing session.
Within 3-5 business days of
successfully completing the DSST TCA Certification Exam, your default status as
a “test taker” will be validated and upgraded from Test Taker to Test
Proctor. You will then be notified via
email “welcoming you to the DSST IBT Program”.
Upon your confirmation of completing the Proctor Next Steps 1-4 from our
introductory email, you can officially administer the Internet-based DSST
exams.
To get started, please click
on the First-time registration link below.
The “DSST TCA Certification Exam” is free, of course, but you will need
a “Keycode” to access the test. That Keycode can be
found on the Create Your User Account page in the IBT DSST Test Administration
Guide.
The other reason you may be
visiting this site is to view a demo DSST exam.
This 5-question sample test will provide you with the general look &
feel of online DSST exams from the test taker’s perspective. There are a few process differences between
this demo test and the live exams. The
demo test does not require payment, a proctor login, test selection, or the
collection of demographic information.
Please Note: The live exams are delivered in
“kiosk mode” in which the Internet browser, address bar, and menu options are
hidden. The display of test questions,
indicating an answer, and navigation through the exam are all the same as the
live test experience. Click here to
launch the demo.
